Teaching aquaponics has been the most integrated STEM activity the presenter has experienced in his 30 plus years as an educator. Aquaponics can serve as an engineering-pathway course, a means of teaching the standars for technological literacy and the NGSS, or a way to attract females into TEE courses.

Gary is a teacher educator in the Technology and Engineering Program at Utah State University. He has been investigating aquaponics as a potential curriculum area for the past several years and has been running a system for the past eight months.
